VAS Sign Rollout, FLINTSHIRE
Flintshire County Council required a reliable supply of Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) as part of its wider approach to improving driver awareness and road safety across the county.
Snapfast tendered for the supply contract and was successful, working in partnership with Elan City to supply the VAS signs required for the rollout.
The project involved supplying signs to meet the Council’s specification and ensuring the right equipment was available to support the programme across multiple locations. With a requirement for dependable, robust equipment suitable for local authority use, selecting the right manufacturing partner was an important part of the process.

As part of the tender, Snapfast brought together our experience in street lighting, highways and traffic signage with the specialist VAS manufacturing capability of Elan City.
Our partnership allowed us to offer Flintshire County Council a straightforward supply route, with Snapfast managing the customer relationship and procurement process while working closely with Elan City to deliver the required signs.
This approach meant the Council had a single point of contact while benefiting from specialist VAS technology and manufacturing expertise.
The result
Following a successful tender process, Snapfast secured the supply contract for Flintshire County Council, with Elan City providing the VAS signs as our manufacturing partner.
The rollout has strengthened Snapfast’s position within the traffic signage and road safety market and demonstrated the value of working closely with specialist manufacturers to deliver the right products for local authority requirements.
For us, the project is a good example of how Snapfast operates: understand the requirement, bring the right partners together and make the procurement process as straightforward as possible for the customer.
